Symbol Type 8 (Core / Wire Symbol)

Symbol type 8 is used for core and wire symbols, and can be evaluated, if the symbol class (code number 1600) is used with the corresponding default settings. The symbol of type 8 with its logical connections is responsible for the fact that a connection receives its properties.

The core symbol differs from the wire symbol as follows:

The core symbol provides the properties for the electrical connection. Several cores can be combined to one cable.

The wire symbol provides the properties for one single electrical connection, and hence describes a single wire.

As the connection in itself has no information (core cross-section, colour, etcetera), the entire information is transferred to the connection with the symbols of type 8 via the logical terminals (LOGANS).
